The property

This three-bedroom cottage in Ruswarp offers a relaxed riverside stay just outside Whitby, with space for up to six guests, private parking and a large enclosed garden.

Set over three floors, the cottage is designed to work well for families, friends and couples sharing. The interiors have a light coastal feel, and the layout gives everyone a bit of space without losing the comfort of staying together under one roof.

The bedrooms are spread across the upper floors. The main bedroom has a king-size bed, while the second bedroom has two single beds, making it a good option for children or additional guests. The area

Ruswarp is a small village on the River Esk, just outside Whitby, and gives you a quieter setting while still keeping the coast and town within easy reach.

The village itself has plenty going for it. Ruswarp Pleasure Boats is popular for rowing and canoeing on the river, and the surrounding area is good for walking, cycling and wildlife spotting. Families often head to Ruswarp Miniature Railway, while younger children are well catered for with indoor play nearby. There are also local places to eat and pick up fresh produce, including The Bridge Inn and the village butcher and farm shop.

Whitby is only around a mile away, so you can easily head into town for the harbour, beach, old streets and abbey, then come back to a slightly quieter base at the end of the day. The location also works well for exploring the Esk Valley, the Cinder Track and the wider North Yorkshire coast.
