Scarborough… a perfect place to relax.

With a population of 61,749, Scarborough is the largest holiday resort on the Yorkshire Coast and the largest seaside town in North Yorkshire.

Scarborough, former city (1983–98), southeastern Ontario, Canada. In 1998 it amalgamated with the borough of East York and the cities of Etobicoke, York, North York, and Toronto to form the City of Toronto. Scarborough township (incorporated 1850) was reconstituted as a borough in 1967 and a city in 1983.

Scarborough is a resort town on England’s North Sea coast. Its 2 bays with sandy beaches are split by a headland bearing the 12th-century Scarborough Castle. The Victorian Central Tramway funicular train links the town centre with South Bay and its harbour.  Beautiful Victorian architecture is dotted throughout and its charming Old Town has fantastic eateries, boutiques, independent shops and amusements.

There’s plenty to do in Scarborough.

1. Take a boat trip offshore to meet lazy seal colonies,
2. Surf in the North Sea, or chug through the North York Moors on a traditional steam train.
3. Follow dinosaur footprints on North and South Bays,
4. Then see the real things fossilised in the geology museum.

What is Scarborough Most Famous For?

Scarborough is one of England’s most famous seaside resort towns. It has that classic historical charm such places are known for, personified by donkey rides, amusement arcades, fish and chips and sticks of rock.

The fair in the folk song made famous by Simon and Garfunkel may no longer exist but there’s still a traditional market hall packed with produce and regular craft fairs. Scarborough North Bay, in Yorkshire, is a great beach spot, and it has all the attractions of a seaside resort.
